Rev. Steve Welker – Interim Pastor
Rev. Steve Welker (Pastor Steve) was ordained in 1991 and just completed an interim pastor assignment at a UCC sister church in Kalamazoo, MI. Prior to interim ministry, Pastor Steve was pastor of Christian Church in Arlington Heights for 12 years and also served as pastor for the First Christian Churches located in Greensburg, PA, and Bloomfield, IN. Pastor Steve is a man of faith, very open and caring — a person you can talk to. His community involvement includes Habitat for Humanity, feeding the poor, CROP walks, leading mission trips, and church camps. As well, Pastor Steve has experience and enthusiasm for working for establishing cooperative community youth groups.
Pastor Steve is married to Brenda and they have two adult children, Alison (Mike) Tealdi and April Welker. They live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago in Hoffman Estates. They are the grandparents of three grandcats.
Vivian Gerrietts – Choir Director
Vivian studied music education with an emphasis in instrumental music at the University of Illinois. Vivian has served St. Paul Church since 1978 as director of adult and children/youth choirs. This has included learning about and directing a handbell choir. She has also been active in leading singing in the Sunday School and in the annual Vacation Bible School.
Vivian is married to George who sings in the adult choir. She has two adult sons and is a grandmother.
Betsy Rylee - Secretary
Betsy joined the St. Paul Church staff in September, 2012. She was raised in Washington, IL, and now lives in Glasford. She is a proud mother of four children – three grown and one still living at home, and also loves being a grandmother. In her free time, she enjoys photography, baking, and traveling. She is very happy to be working here as the secretary of St. Paul Church.
